Are you lying? Just checkin’!

One of Jackson’s on-going chores is that after clothes are washed, he is responsible for folding all of his and Peyton’s clothes.  His folding technique has improved greatly over the last several months mostly dependent on his desire to do it.  LOL.  Sounds like most of us, doesn’t it?  Anyway, last night, I opened his pajama drawer to pull out a shirt for him to wear and there was a huge pile of clothes including a pair of shorts, a t-shirt, a wash cloth, and a pair of underwear.

I felt Joan Crawford bubbling as I called for Jackson to come into his room.  “Jackson, look in this drawer and tell me what’s wrong!”  The best part was he looked in the drawer and looked back at me with a blank look on his face like everything was fine.  LOL.  I’ve been caught in this trap before…  do I tell him just exactly what I think has been happening and leave it at that, or do I…

I did NOT go with the latter.  Dad and I have been trying very hard to take steps to eliminate opportunities for Jackson to lie!  So I expressed my disappointment that he has been cutting corners with the laundry and Dad and I talked to him about re-folding everything in each drawer in the morning.  So this morning, I had him start working on the drawers and I was very pleased when he came to get me.  As he slowly opened each drawer, I was very impressed with how neatly everything was placed in the drawer and how he could easily see everything.  I told him that I appreciated that and that he would as well in the future for having a Daddy who was like this…

LOL!
